Look inside, a sauna
“We have become gods but for the wisdom,” — Eric Weinstein.
Thanks to technology, humans can do almost anything. Yet we choose to do almost nothing about the most imminent threats facing humanity — or even our individual happiness and wellbeing.
Where to look for wisdom in this world gone mad?
I suggest the sauna.
At first the extreme heat and cold may feel anything but wise, or even pleasant. But suddenly it becomes tolerable and then strangely delightful — actually better than what you remembered even possible.
Just arrive and let your body and the heat conspire to deliver your back into your life — suddenly a bit brighter and more interesting than you remember. But this remembering invites something like wisdom, often as helpful nightvision into a few truly dark and scary corners. That unbearable heat somehow more dynamic and approachable than before.
If it’s wisdom you’re looking for, they will tell you to look inside. I just suggest doing so inside a sauna!
